Free Bikeability Cycle Training
We have arranged for instructors from Little Riders to deliver some FREE Bikeability Cycle Training during the October Half Term holidays.
The training forms part of the national Bikeability cycle training programme and is funded by the government through Norfolk County Council.
We have arranged the following FREE training:
Bikeability Level 1 & 2 - Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th October (10.00am-3.00pm) - The 2 day course is suitable for young people aged 9-16 years old who would like to develop the knowledge and confidence to ride on modern roads.
Bikeability Level 3 & Fix - Wednesday 28th October (10.00am-3.00pm) - The 1 day training course is aimed at young people aged 11-16 years old. It builds on Level 1 & 2 and teaches riders how to handle busy roads, complex junctions, multi‑lane roundabouts, and advanced road positioning. It would be beneficial if participants had previously completed Bikeability Levels 1 and 2, although this is not essential. Participants will also learn some basic bike maintenance skills, helping them understand how to check that their bike is safe, roadworthy and working effectively.
Both courses will be based at the Pavilion at the Manor Road Playing Fields.
Bikes, helmets and clothing
Young people taking part will need to bring a bike and helmet to each session and should wear comfortable outdoor clothing to suit the weather on the day. They should also bring a packed lunch and a drink.
